Gastric Bypass
Gastric bypass surgery is considered the gold standard procedure for a reason, it works! Gastric bypass combines stomach and intestinal surgery to produce many hormonal and metabolic changes that results in efficient weight loss. This procedure is the best treatment for diabetes.
Sleeve Gastrectomy
The Sleeve Gastrectomy permanently removes approximately 80-85 percent of the stomach. This greatly reduces the volume of food that can be consumed and reduces hunger and cravings. Sleeve gastrectomy is permanent but can be converted to other procedures if necessary.
Lap-Band®
The Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band involves placement of an adjustable band around the upper portion of the stomach, creating a small stomach pouch. The band is gradually adjusted to control hunger and portion sizes. This is the least invasive surgical option that results in gradual weight loss.
Revisional Surgery
Revisional bariatric surgery requires careful evaluation and is approached on an individual basis — evaluating the procedure that was initially performed and its current level of function. Dr. Machado has extensive experience in revisional surgery and has helped many patients get back on track.
